KNØN

My name is Brian Lawler. I am 50 years old and was first licensed in 1978 as KAØCWS in South Dakota. I was assigned KNØN when I upgraded to Extra in 1983. We moved to Bellingham, WA in 1991. HF rigs are TS-2ØØØLE and TS-94ØS barefoot in to either a 2Ø2 foot long G5RV at 7Ø feet or Cushcraft A3 tribander on 25 foot mast. V/UHF are Kenwood D7ØØ's in shack and mobile (KNØN-9 on APRS)and a Yaesu VX-7R HT. My QRP rigs include a RockMite 40 meter XCVR running 500mw and an Elecraft KX-1 (3-4 watts).  I don't run Echolink very often, so if you are interested in using the RF link, you will have to drop me a note.  Coverage out of the Whatcom basin is poor on UHF.  My ham computer is a homebrew Intel Core 2 Duo 2.3 Ghz on an Intel mobo using onboard sound plus Audigy card to one SignaLink and one MicroKeyer I/O'S & Win XP Pro. Current software includes HR Deluxe, DXLab Suite, MMSSTV, EasyPAL, DigiPan and Echolink. I also use an Athlon dual-core notebook computer (Vista Pro) for portable ops through a Signalink to aYaesu 857 with an LDG tuner.  My favorite mode is CW and you will hear me "QLF", banging a Kent straight key at the bottom of the bands. SKCC #2354, NAQCC #1581, FISTS #12744, QCWA #32728, LoTW, eQSL. Check out my regional Amateur Radio portal at WhatcomRadio.org.
